Light ice ax for mountain climbing. A compromise between a classic hiking ax and a modern ice weapon.
The EDGE ice ax is an intermediate step between a classic hiking ax and a modern ice weapon. It combines the advantages of both types: a curved shaft that creates more space during hard climbing, and a smooth lower tip that easily penetrates the snow when belaying or on lighter climbs. The ideal ice ax for steep gullies and classic alpine climbing.
- the curved shape of the shaft allows easier climbing in ice clods or in rock and at the same time guarantees an optimal grip angle
- forged the head allows the use of a mallet or shovel and changing the tip, for maximum weight reduction the ice ax can be used without a mallet/shovel
