PETZL ice ax SUMMIT EVO is a classic ice ax suitable for all types of mountaineering with a very modern design. It is exceptionally light, yet with enough weight on the head for a balanced jam.
The water press shaped ice ax handle provides excellent grip in curves and features a technical design. The top of the shaft is curved to provide enough clearance for the ice climbing jam. The lower part is straight and guarantees effective snow penetration when walking uphill.
Head and tip are hot forged stainless steel and ensure a solid grip. The point is 3 mm thick at the tip, durable and equipped with teeth at the tip, it easily penetrates hard snow and ice. From the tip towards the center, the tip widens to facilitate anchoring in soft snow. The teeth on the top edge of the tip ensure a firm and secure location of the ice ax when levering the "piolet ramp". The lower end of the handle is equipped with a forged stainless steel tip.
Highly durable steel blade provides support for a comfortable grip and the shape of the edges ensures efficient chopping of the steps. The slope of the blade directs the ice ax into the snow in the correct position (at "piolet-canne"). The head and lower tip are provided with holes for attaching a carabiner or loop. The handle is made of high quality 7075 aluminum and is anodized for added protection.
The ice ax can be supplemented with technical accessories for more effective and efficient performance: it is fully compatible with the adjustable TRIGREST support. It is possible to attach a PETZL LINKIN.
