PETZL abseiling brake RIG 2018
What should we write about this product? It's tough when we think it's the best abseil brake for work at height and rescue!
We will only add that Petzl once again outpaced all abseil brake manufacturers in development by at least 10 years, but maybe more.
Innovated abseiling brake with AUTO-LOCK system. Designed especially for rope access workers. The PETZL RIG can be also used in tree climbing, for example at the base of a trunk, as a launch system for SRT climbing.
New PETZL RIG 2018 compared to the original model has undergone major changes that are not completely visible at first glance, but it is literally "TUNING" of the original model. The most important changes are:
1. AUTO-LOCK is a system that automatically locks the handle (control lever) into a locked state, so the worker no longer needs to lock it manually. But sometimes the AUTO-LOCK system can trip you up :-)
2. After securing with the AUTO-LOCK system, the rope can be retrieved, which is an advantage when climbing the rope, or when working on inclined surfaces, when the worker has good foot support.
3. The cam can be operated by hand, which allows the rope to be retrieved when belaying, for example, a first-time climber.
4. The integrated stainless steel plate protects the friction surface against wear and thus increases the life of the RIGA.
Quality workmanship and compact dimensions have been preserved. Rope installation is quick and easy thanks to the groove and markings. The ergonomic handle allows you to release the rope and conveniently control the rappelling.
