The book is the only one in our country that provides comprehensive practical legal advice to owners and managers of trees, forest owners, citizens, environmental associations and municipal governments on how to realize their rights and fulfill their legal obligations and how to get involved in tree protection. The authors draw on their many years of experience from the practice of licensing and supervisory administrative bodies, from the activities of local governments and from representation in court disputes, but also from extensive teaching activities.

It is primarily an amendment to permit the felling of trees growing outside the forest for the purposes of construction projects and a change in public participation in the procedures carried out together with the so-called major amendment to the Building Act, as well as an amendment to the felling of railways. The so-called National Park Amendment to the Act on Nature and Landscape Protection is especially important for the protection of forests in national parks. Sanctions for illegal felling and damage to trees are affected by the new law on liability for offenses and their proceedings.
