Product detailed description
FTC friction device FREEXION is CE certified and can be used with all EN 1891 (type A) ropes from 11.5 mm to 12.5 mm in diameter. Its 3-position adjustment system (hard/medium/soft) allows you to adjust the angle of the system. You can also adjust and change the friction to be more or less depending on the diameter of the rope, the weight of the climber or simply adapt the path in the tree to the given situation.
With the front pin opening secured, the FREEXION can be installed in the middle of the rope for easy application. FREEXION is the first system of its kind that does not need to be removed from the rope or disassembled to change the friction. You can change the friction at any time, in a few seconds, or reduce the load on the friction hinge: you don't need any tools, just press both ends of the double button at the same time. It's so practical!
For example: High in big trees, with heavy rope weight, you pull on the strap to set the selector to the soft position and reduce friction. Once the rope weight is reduced, you can adjust the position back to medium or hard braking. You can also climb with a dry rope in the hard position in the morning and switch to the soft position in the rain due to the slight increase in diameter caused by changing weather conditions.
As a bonus, the FREEXION TETHER has been designed with an extra loop to attach a carabiner and add extra friction for rescue purposes. The FREEXION shape was developed to facilitate the transition from SRT work to DRT work.
The system is designed to be very compact thanks to a short, flexible connection. During the ascent, the system is placed low and close to the body, so that the climber has a very upright position and does not have to put his arms too high. The result is plenty of room for movement.
The compactness of our FREEXION SYSTEM is also an advantage when it comes to large lateral movements, in addition to the possibility of friction adjustment. It is very easy to switch from SRT to DRT or reduce/increase friction and adapt the system to your work.
