Product detailed description
Birdie is a compact single belay with an assisted brake for belaying a first-time climber or over a "top rope" (for a fish). The entire construction of the BEAL Birdie fuse is metal. Internal connecting parts + dynamic cam and friction hammer are made of stainless steel to increase service life. The rope passes in the axis of the belay - so there is no twisting of the rope when it rubs over the edge, as is the case with other manufacturers.
BEAL Birdie is compatible with simple dynamic ropes from 8.5 mm in diameter (BEAL Opera) to 10, 5mm (BEAL TopGun). The most suitable diameter of the rope for convenient and comfortable operation of the safety device is 9-10 mm. The belay is secured using the connecting carabiner only after the rope has been installed. It is therefore not possible to open the fuse in any way during operation. Part of the Birdie safety device is also a small screw, which after screwing in prevents the user from opening it. For example, rope centers or climbing courses can use this security option.
