PETZL ice ax GLACIER is a light compact ice ax designed for ski alpinism, skiing in open terrain on steep mountain slopes and for ultra light climbing or running expeditions in the mountains.
The ice ax head provides excellent grip. Both the tip and the handle are light, but still extra durable and strong. The forged stainless steel tip is serrated and the 3mm tip widens towards the head. Thanks to the shape of the tip, a stable and secure jam is ensured. The lower end of the handle is equipped with a forged stainless steel tip, which makes it easier to stick into hard snow.
The very durable steel blade of the ice ax provides support for a comfortable grip and the shape of the edges ensures efficient chopping of steps. The slope of the blade directs the ice ax into the snow in the correct position. The head and lower tip are provided with holes for attaching a carabiner or loop. The handle is made from high quality 7075 aluminum and is anodized for added protection. The lower part of the handle has ergonomic moldings that make it easier to grip.
